Nowadays, cities are centers of intellectual activity, trade, culture, science, productive labor, and social development. It is within the cities that human economic and social evolution takes place. The sustainable future we want for all requires the availability of urban infrastructure for the entire population, adequate energy conservation, an efficient transport system, and many other aspects of urbanization. Nevertheless, improving the resilience and safety of cities is critical to avoid human, social and economic losses.
However, with the increased number of cities and communities, many issues arise from a legal perspective, which include: forced eviction and expropriation for state and public use, the right to be free from arbitrary intrusion into one’s home, equal and non-discriminatory access to adequate housing and participation in decision making related to housing both at the national and community levels.
If these issues caught your attention, and you do not want to be aloof from solving one of the global SDGs-2030, in particular, Target 11 (Sustainable cities and communities), then come to our "Discussion day" on the occasion of the World Habitat Day.
